Sophie Allen

From as young as 11 years old I threw myself into the sport of swimming; devoting the next 12 years of my life down this path. Gaining my first national age title at 11 years old, and International medals from 14. My career took me to the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, European Championships winning 2 bronze and 1 silver medals, World Championships in 2013 with a high in my career ranking 4th, and the home Olympic Games in London 2012. I got to travel the world doing something I loved!
Sadly, due to injury I had to retire from the sport in 2014. This however, opened new doors of opportunity - leading me to inspire+. Throughout my career I had done several events inspiring youngsters to get active and involved in sport, so it seemed a natural progression to use my achievements to encourage others to strive to be the best they can. I am currently leading a Girls in Sport campaign with inspire + across all their schools, as well as mentoring youngsters.
