As another busy chapter comes to a close, we’re taking this time to share some of the stories, milestones and achievements helping us create healthier, happier and more active children and young people across Lincolnshire.
From breaking ground on our Community Hub to welcoming a record number of apprentices, delivering summer holiday provision and celebrating another successful year of School Games, there has been plenty to be proud of.
The Community Hub Takes Shape
This year, we’ve reached a major milestone, with work now underway on the new inspire+ Community Hub at Dysart Park in Grantham.
We hope that the Hub will provide a dedicated space to support children, young people and families through community activities and wellbeing opportunities. While there is still plenty of work ahead, seeing activity begin on site marks a significant step forward for a project that has been years in the making.
The progress made so far would not be possible without the support of key partners who share our vision for the future. South Kesteven District Council has played an important role in helping bring the project forward, while support from Allison Homes and MV Kelly are helping us move closer to creating a lasting community asset for the district.

Growing the Next Generation of Educators
This autumn, we’re welcoming a record-breaking cohort of 20 Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant apprentices, bringing the total number of learners currently studying at Level 5 to 40.
The growth reflects a continued demand from schools for high-quality professional development and demonstrates the confidence education settings place in the apprenticeship pathway.
Alongside the growth in learner numbers, our programmes continue to produce strong outcomes. Over the past two years, 60% of entry-level apprentices have progressed onto higher-level apprenticeships, demonstrating the opportunities available for those looking to build long-term careers in education.
The new cohort joins a programme that has enjoyed significant success over the last year, including award-winning achievements across our apprentices. As the new academic year begins, we’re excited to see the next generation of education professionals begin their own journeys.

Finalists in Two Categories
The positive impact being made across Lincolnshire has recently received further recognition, with inspire+ shortlisted in two categories at the Lincolnshire Sport & Physical Activity Awards 2026.
We’re delighted to have been named finalists for both the Outstanding Service to Sport & Physical Activity Award and the Active Skills Award, placing us among the final three organisations in each category.
These nominations reflect the collective effort of our team, schools, partners, apprentices, volunteers and supporters, all of whom play a vital role in helping more children and young people become healthy, happy and active.
While the awards ceremony is still to come, being recognised alongside some of Lincolnshire’s leading organisations is already a fantastic achievement and an encouraging reflection of the work taking place across the county.
A Summer to Remember: Holiday Activities and Food Camps
Summer once again saw thousands of children and young people benefiting from our Holiday Activity and Food Programme.
Delivered across six locations, the programme welcomed approximately 450 attendees during the school holidays. Activities ranged from sport and physical activity to creative workshops, games and healthy eating experiences, helping children stay active, make friends and build confidence during the break from school.
One of the highlights of the summer was the continued focus on healthy lifestyles and nutrition, with children given opportunities to learn new skills. Our Grantham camp got stuck in with the Roots to Food programme. Darren from the programme helped them cook a healthy and nutritious stir-fry. This experience helped the children to develop a better understanding of healthy eating and cooking in a fun and engaging way.
Most importantly, our Holiday Camps continued to provide safe, welcoming environments where children could have fun, stay active and create lasting memories.
A Year of School Games Success
School sport continues to play a vital role in helping young people develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
Over the past year, the South West Lincolnshire School Games Organiser programme engaged 9,203 participants from 45 schools through a packed calendar of competitive and inclusive opportunities.
Across the year, 52 inter-school events enabled children and young people to represent their schools, experience competition and develop new skills. Participation remained strong across all age groups, with girls making up more than half of all participants.
The year featured several standout events, including the ever-popular Town Sports athletics competition, exciting Tag Rugby festivals and FA Girls football events that provided hundreds of young people with opportunities to play, compete and represent their schools.
A key focus throughout the year has remained inclusion, ensuring opportunities are available for children of all backgrounds and abilities. By creating a wide variety of pathways into participation, the programme continues to help more young people discover the benefits of being physically active.
The Academic Year Ahead
As we move into the new academic year, we’re focused on building on this momentum.
From progressing the Community Hub development and expanding community opportunities, to supporting a growing cohort of apprentices and continuing to create positive experiences through sport and physical activity, there is plenty to look forward to.
Every child and young person deserves the opportunity to be healthy, happy and more active. Thanks to the support of our schools, partners, funders, families and wider community, we’re continuing to make that vision a reality.
