A summer of sport, opportunity and impact across Lincolnshire

The summer term at inspire+ has been packed with activity, bringing together schools, communities and partners to create opportunities for young people to stay active, build confidence and try something new.

From large-scale events to targeted programmes and workforce development, it has been another busy and impactful period across the county.

The 19th Mini Olympics: Three unforgettable days of sport and opportunity

Across three days, over 2,000 primary pupils took part in the 19th Mini Olympics.

Despite facing a wide range of weather conditions, the event adapted to ensure every child could take part, supported by more than 100 volunteers each day.

A diverse range of sports, from squash to American football, were on offer, with partner organisations supporting on the day. This gave children the chance to try activities they may never have experienced before, creating a true celebration of participation, teamwork and opportunity.

This impact was felt by schools throughout the event:

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your team for such a fantastic event today. We received such a warm welcome and incredible support from everyone involved, which was greatly appreciated.

The whole day was superbly organised and both the children and adults thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We brought almost 90 Year 3 and Year 4 children, and it was wonderful to see them so engaged and enthusiastic throughout the day.

A special thank you to Oliver, who was one of our group leaders. He was fantastic with our group and helped make the experience so enjoyable and memorable.”

Unlocking potential within your school: Apprenticeships

Across the country, schools are under increasing pressure to do more with the resources they already have. Recruitment is challenging, budgets are stretched and the need to support pupils and strengthen provision continues to grow.

What is often overlooked is that the solution may already be within your school.

Through apprenticeships, schools can invest in the staff they already trust, building on existing knowledge of pupils, culture and priorities. This approach not only strengthens teams from within, but helps create continuity, improve morale and develop clear pathways for progression across the school.

Mini Medics: building skills that could save lives

Our Mini Medics programme is helping young people develop practical, potentially life-saving skills in a calm and supportive environment.

Through a hands-on approach, pupils are introduced to key first aid principles in a way that feels accessible and engaging, allowing confidence to build without pressure. From learning how to respond in an emergency to understanding how to support others, the programme focuses on skills that can be taken beyond the classroom and into everyday life.

By creating a space where pupils feel comfortable to learn, ask questions and practise new skills, Mini Medics continues to empower young people with knowledge that could one day make a real difference.
