Following retirement, after a 40-year career in local government, David worked as a consultant specialising in health and safety and food safety.
David was a local person who had lived in Grantham for over 50 years. He had a lifelong passion for all sports and a heavy commitment towards golf, having been a past Captain and past President for Lincolnshire. He had served as the ongoing representative for Lincolnshire golfers at England Golf, and he had also been the Chairman of the Midland Golf Union, covering the 10 counties of the Midlands.
