Sam competes in athletics for Great Britain & N.I. in F35 Shot Put. He competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games as a sprinter but has since turned his attention to the field events. His most recent accomplishment was breaking his own British Record with a personal best throw of 13.75cm at the 2015 IPC World Championships in Doha. As this performance saw him finish 5th in the final, his attention is now firmly on bettering that effort at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Sam has an unbelievable impact with our schools. He has built up a real relationship with all our school children bringing them onto his journey as an professional athlete with him. The messages that Sam gives across, including 'being the best you can be', 'beating your ghost of yesterday', 'achieving own gold medal' and 'setting, planning and achieving your goals' really fit into schools ethos, aims and what ofsted aim to see children being inspired into.

"It's a pleasure to be an ambassador with inspire+. Their endeavours in Grantham and wider Lincolnshire are having such a huge but most importantly measurable impact on the area's provision and facilitation of sport, physical activity and coaching. I'm very proud to help inspire the next generation through their work."
