Since 2012 Inspire+ have run a Legacy Tour across its Primary and Secondary Schools in South Kesteven. The first Legacy Tour looked at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the following years Tour carrying on the Olympic and Paralympic Legacy through its sporting values. Since then the Tours have promoted the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, FIFA World Cup, Tour De France, Inspire+ ambassador and adventurer Sarah Outen MBE, Rio 2016 and Healthy lifestyles.
The Tours are put together by the South Kesteven Senior Young Ambassador Steering Group and then each school assembly is run by an Inspire+ member of staff with the assistance of the schools Bronze Young Ambassadors. On the day that the school hosts the tour they get to try new sports such as cycling and a variety of Paralympic Sports.
Inspire+ continue to this day to run the Legacy Tour, going around all our member schools helping to pass on the legacy left by London 2012.
Each year Inspire+ schools get the chance to pass on important messages about sport, healthy lifestyles and active living too all their children through the Inspire+ Legacy Tour. This is helping thousands of local children lead healthier and active lifestyles.
