Simon Barter

I worked in the outdoors as an instructor, teaching activities like climbing and canoeing, before moving into a management role at PGL activity centres. I spent 20 years in management (in Normandy, Paris, and Caythorpe), often responsible for setting up PGL’s new flagship projects.
During this time, I also consulted for various businesses and charitable organisations, including the early stages of inspire+. Later, I took on the role of setting up PGL as a business in Australia. After five years and the establishment of three new sites (two in Victoria and one in Queensland), the business now has a turnover of $10 million.
Having achieved my goals and for personal reasons, I decided to step back temporarily and took a year-long break in Barbados, where I expanded my consultancy and began writing a book. I keenly monitor the progress of inspire+ and look forward to continuing my involvement.
