A growing talent pool ready to support schools
We’re seeing a real surge in apprenticeship applications at inspire+, with more young people than ever choosing a pathway into education.
This growing interest is helping us build a strong pipeline of enthusiastic, motivated future educators who are ready to make a meaningful difference in schools. For schools, this represents an opportunity to access emerging talent, a practical way to build skills, unparalleled support for pupils and a cost-effective way to strengthen staffing for the long term.
A fun and active Easter supporting over 1,000 young people
During the Easter holidays, inspire+ delivered an exciting and engaging Holiday Activities and Food programme across five locations, providing children with a fun, active and supportive environment throughout the break.
This year also saw the introduction of a brand new venue at Winchelsea Primary School, helping even more families access funded holiday provision within their local community.
Each day was filled with a variety of activities designed to keep children creative and connected. From sports and team games to arts and crafts, children built confidence, developed new skills and formed friendships in a welcoming environment.
A particular highlight came from the cooking sessions led by Darren, where children learned practical kitchen skills while preparing and enjoying healthy, nutritious meals together.
Across all five venues, more than 1,000 places were delivered, ensuring children stayed engaged and well-supported throughout the holidays. The programme will return this summer with another busy and fun-filled offer for local families.

Opening up opportunities through inclusive wheelchair sport
Over the last two terms, inspire+ has continued to deliver inclusive wheelchair sport festivals, giving children the opportunity to take part in safe, engaging and supportive sessions.
More than 240 children have taken part across locations including Grantham, Stamford, Bourne, Sleaford, Lincoln, Skegness and Louth.
Delivered in partnership with Active Lincolnshire, these sessions form part of a wider commitment to increasing access to inclusive sport across the county.
These sessions create an environment where young people can try something new and enjoy being active in a fully inclusive setting, with a clear focus on participation and positive experiences.
A new format opens the door for more swimmers to compete
This year’s South West Lincolnshire primary schools swimming gala introduced a new format, ensuring more children had the opportunity to take part and represent their schools.
Previously, schools needed to bring a full squad of confident swimmers, which has sometimes created a barrier for smaller schools. The new format removed this requirement, allowing schools to compete regardless of squad size.
The impact was significant, with 19 schools and 315 pupils taking part across the day. Individual success was recognised through medal presentations, while relay events maintained the team element and competitive spirit.
Delivered in partnership with Grantham Meres Swimming Team and supported by inspire+ sports leaders, the event was a great example of how small changes can open up big opportunities.
Celebrating apprentices who are going above and beyond
This term, two inspire+ apprentices have been recognised through award nominations, reflecting the impact they are making within their schools and communities.
Shay Markham, a Level 4 Sports Coach apprentice at Hampton Vale Academy, has been nominated for both the IEG Higher Level Apprentice Award and the Peterborough Apprentice Award. Known for his willingness to step in wherever needed, Shay supports across multiple subjects while also running breakfast clubs and contributing to wider school life.
Ava Reed, who has completed her Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship with a distinction, has been nominated for NCFE Apprentice of the Year. Ava has made a significant impact within her school through her one-to-one support for pupils, her role in wider school activity and has progressed onto the Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant programme.
